Interferential Current
An instrument used to apply a higher current than the "TENS", used for the rehabilitation of injuries in patients whith whom less intense therapies have not worked for. The interferential current penetrates deeper in the tissue than a regular TENS, which results in more accurate stimulation of the desired muscle, even the release of a contracted muscle that normally would not have released.
This form of therapy is beneficial in activating the body's own pain killing mechanism, by way of releasing "endorphins".
