MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUE
This therapy consists of evaluating and treating joint restrictions of the spine, rib cage, pelvis, and extremities. Although the name refers to energy, the therapy itself is actually an analytic diagnostic system, using precise physical diagnosis evaluation procedures designed to identify and assess joint range-of-motion restriction. MET focuses on joint range-of-motion limitation, and uses light to moderate force muscular contractions precisely controlled to affect a specific joint, to restore normal joint motion.
MET was originally developed over 45 years ago, and is practiced by many Osteopaths, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other manual therapists world-wide.
